Halo Assistant is designed to feel personal without making your personal information feel exposed. This policy explains what happens when you use Halo, including voice input and advertising.

The short version

Halo uses information to provide assistant features, process requests, keep the app secure, and support advertising through Google AdMob. Microphone access is only used when you choose voice input. We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Halo, we may process the following categories of information:

  • Prompts and content: text, files, or other content you voluntarily submit to the assistant.
  • Voice input: audio captured after you grant microphone permission and activate voice recording.
  • Device and usage data: app version, device type, operating system, approximate region, crash diagnostics, and interaction events used to maintain the app.
  • Advertising data: information used by Google AdMob to serve, measure, and protect advertisements, subject to your device settings and applicable law.

Microphone & voice recordings

Halo does not continuously listen in the background. The microphone is accessed when you actively select or use the voice input control and your device grants permission.

Voice may be sent to the speech recognition or AI service configured for Halo so that the app can return a response. Retention depends on those service providers and their applicable terms. Do not use voice input for highly sensitive information.

Advertising & Google AdMob

Halo uses Google AdMob to display advertisements and help support the app. Google and its partners may process device identifiers, approximate location, advertising interactions, diagnostics, and usage information to deliver, measure, prevent fraud in, and personalize ads where permitted.

Advertising choices

You can reset your advertising identifier, limit personalized advertising, or manage permissions through your device settings. Google's privacy policy and advertising settings may also apply.

Your choices and rights

  • Decline or revoke microphone permission through your device settings.
  • Clear app data or uninstall Halo to stop future collection from the app.
  • Manage ad personalization and reset your advertising identifier through your device settings.
  • Contact hotihimyalasalt with questions about this policy or privacy-related requests.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your information. We will handle valid requests as required by applicable law.

Children's privacy

Halo is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the required consent. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
